This helps with sore nipples caused by breastfeeding
Since breastfeeding and the breastfeeding position still need to be established, especially in the early days, sore nipples are not uncommon. Here's what you can do to relieve the discomfort:
1. Pay attention to hygiene
Wash your hands before breastfeeding and change your underwear and bra regularly. After breastfeeding, you can use a saline solution from the pharmacy to rinse the nipples. This will reduce the risk of infection.
2. Take care of your nipples
Sore and stressed nipples can be treated with special creams that contain lanolin. This promotes wound healing and keeps the skin soft.
3. Use nursing pads
Clothing that rubs against sore nipples can cause severe pain. Friction also worsens the irritation and increases the risk of infection. Nursing pads absorb breast milk, keep the nipples dry and do not rub.
